Hello and Welcome to Real Life Skills Support Services

Samantha Rillie, CEO, Real Life Skills Support Services

Hi! I am Samantha but you can call me Sam. I am one of the Managing Directors of Real Life Skills Support Services.

You may not have heard of us yet, that’s because Real Life Skills Support Services is a newly established service provider to the market. A family owned business looking to make a real difference in the lives of Australian people and their families.

It is our belief that each individual deserves the right to an opportunity to develop and have assistance with basic everyday life skills. The sad and alarming reality is, this opportunity isn’t available to everyone. After hearing recent reports in the news, market research and speaking with industry experts, we found there was a strong NEED to provide a service that worked towards teaching people the knowledge and skills they needed to take crucial steps forward in achieving their goals. When we dug deeper, it became even more apparent there wasn’t just a need for what we provide but an even stronger WANT from the community to live independently or to continue to live independently. From there Real Life Skills Support Services came to life.

Real Life Skills Support Services provides a range of programs and workshops for participants to take part in. We have really tried to capture the everyday tasks and skills that the majority of people take for granted and are able to do without a second thought and put them into practice. Our vision was to create progressive workshops that allowed people to continue to develop and grow over a number of weeks through repetition and integration of new skills, and I am happy to say we’ve done just that.

We want to create a community. We want to provide a space where the people that walk through our doors not only have the opportunity to achieve more than they ever imagined possible, but an environment that helps to foster more meaningful and lasting friendships, as well as a create a feeling of belonging. Forming connections with people is one of the most precious things in this world. You take a little piece of everyone you meet.

Through everything that we do, we hope to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions. To break down barriers that ‘disability is an inability’ and show the world that all lives matter and everyone deserves a chance to live their best life and participate in a just society.

Our long-term goal is to not only provide assistance and programs where people of the community can feel safe, and have fun while they learn and grow, but provide employment opportunities. Our values promote an environment that represents a commitment to inclusivity and diversity. By 2022, we would love to see a significant proportion of our workforce made up of the very people that use programs such as ours.

We believe being supported to make choices, gives you as an individual a sense of control over your life, in turn further developing and building confidence for you to believe in yourself and your abilities. We are a community like no other at Real Life Skills Support Services, and we would love to join you on your journey to better living.
