NDIS Skills Centre

Our NDIS Skills Centre is all about Independence. The Independence Program is designed to provide young adults with disabilities the opportunity to further develop their independent living skills. We provide a flexible learning environment with a hands-on approach to building lifelong skills and assisting students through life transitions and challenges.

The Skills Centre is a great program for participants looking for assistance with the transition from school into everyday life. Don’t wait until school is over to prepare. We regularly see that people accessing the NDIS who engage and participate in meaningful capacity-building activities before school finishing as a part of their school week have a higher success rate when it comes to achieving their goals post-school and settling into life after school.

Our NDIS Independence Program runs on Thursdays and covers a range of different skills
throughout the year. Here are just a few of the Life Skill areas you can expect to be covered:

  • Domestic/ Household Tasks
  • Transport training including road safety
  • Discovery Activities
  • Social Skills and building healthy relationships
  • Work Ready Skills including preparing resumes, work experience and volunteer opportunities
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Communication Skills
  • Personal Development Skills
  • Meal planning, preparation, and healthy living
  • Money Management
  • Budgeting
  • Daily Hygiene and personal appearance
