NDIS COOKING CLASSES

If you want to learn to cook, we have the perfect Cooking Class for you.

Our NDIS Cooking Class for people with disabilities is where you will not only learn to cook basics but also learn about hygiene and food safety principals. Our qualified chefs and health and safety team have designed a structured process to walk you through all you need to know, including:

  • Reading a recipe,
  • Knife Skills
  • Food Safety
  • Preparing ingredients,
  • Cooking nutritious main meals and desserts.

Our NDIS Cooking Class take a structured but fun, hands-on learning approach with a strong focus on building your capacity in the kitchen.

Classes are capped at a maximum of 10 participants, with one teacher and one observer in the classroom. Our teachers are there to assist you every step of the way. These are just a few examples of what you could be whipping up in the kitchen:

We provide you with all the equipment you will need to attend the learn to cook class including; food, kitchen equipment, a recipe book, and personal protective equipment.

You will need to bring:

  • Wear comfortable closed in shoes
  • A water bottle
  • A happy smile

NDIS COOKING CLASSES

There are two options available for NDIS Participants to build capacity to improve their everyday life skills.
NDIS Participants wanting to join our intermediate cooking classes are required to attend our beginner class initially, to assess skill level and suitability.

OUR NDIS Cooking Class

Cooking Class is held on Monday and Tuesdays over 10 weeks

Available Times:
8:30am to 11:30am
12:30pm to 3:30pm

We currently run a total of four, 10-week progressive Cooking Classes over the year.

Real Life Skills Support Services runs our Cooking Classes Scheduled throughout 2022.

Please note: Classes for 2023 will be updated towards the end of the year

MONDAYS

Term 1 | 24th January to 29th March
Term 2 | 19th April to 21st June
Term 3 | 11th July to 13th September
Term 4 | 24th October to 6th December

TUESDAYS

Term 1 | 25th Januaryto 30th March
Term 2 | 20th April to 22nd June
Term 3 | 12th July to 14th September
Term 4 | 25th October to 7th December

The total cost for our Intermediate Progressive Cooking Class is $1030.00 per term.

All our NDIS cooking classes are held at Maroochydore State High School. The best part, you get to take home everything you make, that is, if you can resist eating it first.

If you are travelling by vehicle, there is designated car parking at the high school. Alternatively, the closest bus stop is a 4-minute walk away. Both our head office and cooking facility locations are accessible for people with all types of mobility aids. Support workers, family members, and/ or carers of participants are all welcome to come along.

We are able to adapt and cater for specific dietary requirements should it be needed, in some instances where dietary requirements are complex, participants may need to see a dietician prior to attending to ensure we can assist as much as possible with individual needs. Please let us know about any dietary requirements when you book into our classes.
